• ACLS, AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM), BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certificate.

  • A hospital in California is looking for an experienced Labor & Delivery/PP nurse for a travel contract.
  • The right candidate will have 2 full years of experience.
  • Experience needed in the Mother baby/Postpartum units.
    • Job Requirements
    • Hold an active BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN and CA License.
    • 2 years of prior experience in L&D, prefers travel experience.
    • C-section experience required: Yes - scrub, recovery, and circulate experience required for L&D.
      • Schedule Information
      • Shifts: 12 hr shifts- 7a, 11a, and 7p.
      • Weekend Requirement: 4 shifts in a 4 week period.
      • Holidays: 1 Major, 1 Minor. Major RN holidays: Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Yrs. Major Tech holidays: Christmas and New Years.
      • Floor specific orientation: 3 Shifts.
        • Unit Specific Information
        • # births per day, per year: 130 births per month.
        • Ratios: 1:1 close to delivery, 1:2 otherwise, 1:4 couplets on postpartum.
        • Charge Nurse: Yes - shared between L&D and PP.
        • Nurse Aides/OB tech: Scrub techs on L&D, otherwise none.
        • Call Requirement: None on either.
        • Scrub Color: Provided.
        • Tele: None - will tx out.
        • Vents: None.
        • OB/Neonataologist in house: None - currently working on it.
        • Floating: PP - no unless NICU background for feeder/grower, L&D to postpartum. Typically don't work interchangeably.
        • Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Deliver down to 23 wks, some high risk- Antepartum, HTN, plan to tx out if known cardiac abnormality. Have perinatology support.

          • **Required to work 2 of the 3 major holidays (which includes the day before, holiday, and day after)**
          • L& D is biggest need.;EOW First to Float
