Job Title:AVP - Commercial Underwriting- Affordable
HousingLocation:BiltmoreWhat you'll do:Responsible for providing
market, financial, and trend analysis for the delivery of the Banks
Affordable Housing Investments products and services to clients and
prospects. Keeps apprised of industry related, political, and
regulatory issues to determine their impact on the Affordable
Housing industry or clients. Acts independently from the sales
teams to structure and evaluate Affordable Housing requests.
Responsible for attaining established Bank and divisional financial
goals, balance sheet limits and portfolio reporting. Performs all
duties in accordance with the company's policies and procedures,
all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the
company operates.What we are looking for:
- Reviews and evaluates Affordable Housing Investment
requests.
- Conducts analysis pertaining to new and existing Affordable
Housing requests and prepares financial analysis of tax returns
(personal and business), analyzes financial statements and
financial projections and is well versed in modeling a sensitivity
and break-even projection analysis.
- Actively manages and monitors the group's portfolio.
- Underwrites Affordable Housing Investments with little
oversight.
- Plays key role in working with clients in requesting
information needed to underwrite Affordable Housing requests.
- Frequently will join relationship managers on client calls to
discuss new requests and conduct site visits as needed.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations, policies
and procedures.Keeps up with changes to banking regulation and
completes bank training courses on-line.
- Performs independent analysis of appraisal, environmental
reports, and all other third-party reports.
- Assigns Affordable Housing risk ratings based on the rating
matrix established by Affordable Housing group.
- Responsible for the calculations of spreads and due diligence
documentation for each transaction.
- Always ensures compliance with all applicable regulations,
policies and procedures. Keeps up with changes to banking
regulation and completes bank training courses on-line.
- Performs other duties and projects as assignedQualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred and 3 + years of related work
experience; or equivalent combination of education and
experience
- Deep understanding of financial accounting knowledge
preferred.
- Preferred knowledge in lending, specifically, cash flow and
collateral analysis and credit structuring.
- Financial analysis experience for business financial
statements, individual's financial statements and tax returns
preferred.
- Exposure to syndicated Affordable Housing transactions as a
participant and in most instances, lead bank.Benefits you'll
